Much Ado About Nothing

Well, President Obama gave his talk to America's student body today. After all of the hoopla, nothing controversial was forthcoming. I don't doubt that some of the protest may have had an impact on what was said, or at least on the study material. Pro or con, the President is the President, and his message to students was o.k., but not anything that parents and teachers are preaching to their kids anyway. But, I hope it helps.

Among the notable news issues this week people are starting to tire of the "war" in Afganistan. I have been wondering how long that would take. It seemed for awhile the cry was to get out of Iraq and send more troops to Afganistan. I suppose that was because there was a feeling that we were winning there. It looks like samo-samo to me though. We don't seem to fight "wars" like we used to. It seems that if we can keep things from getting worse we think we're winning.

This is my first posting, and since no one will read it anyway, I haven't pontificated very much. But politics, religeon, and sports will be my focus, with a few notes about my dog, because she is arguably the worlds best!
